xx. oof. why doesn't this get any easier? another stumble over her tired paws as the kit fell into the undergrowth. she had been moved here by many cats, each of which was a single loner that was no relation or had no reason to care about her. her head was heavy and her stomach was bloated. she was in pain from being starved. all she had wanted was a safe place to live and a home. but now she lay here alone, with no clue where her sibling were, or her mother for that matter.
xx. another painful cry came from the newly seeing kit. she only knew so much about the world. those who smelled of milk would betray you, and those who didn't may have helped to save her. but she knew without food she wouldn't live. how long would it be before this young kit would finally have to give up and admit defeat? surely someone is out there.
her miserable voice chimed through the air as pain touched every muscles. she just wanted to live.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size][/color]

His ears pricked up as a faint murmur echoed faintly over the moor. Sleetwhisper quickly located the source of the sound. He followed his senses, which took him forward. He spotted a small scrap of fur in the distance, picking up speed in his slow trot as soon as he spotted it. When he arrived next to it, he saw that it was a kit, malnourished, clearly close to death. Sleetwhisper tried to speak, but it was only a muffled version of his deep voice because he had a branch off of a juniper berry bush. He set it carefully on the ground and spoke to the kit. "Um... Hello. I'm Sleetwhisper, medicine cat of WindClan. What's your name," he asked, them continued to say more. "Are you okay?" The kit was alive still, but would need immediate care.

xx. her eyes flickered open at the sound of the tom speaking. it was obvious the kit was exhausted. with a painful breathe, the kit sighed quietly before opening her mouth. i don't have a name.
[/color] clover had been named when she was young, but would never truly know what her birth name was. i...don't know.[/color] her eyes fell closed after she spoke again. she was exhausted and tired, and hungry. she wanted to sleep, but was scared to. how could this have happened?[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Dark it may seem to some of you, but the Sun wil forever guide my paws....
Darkstar had been out since dawn basking in the glow of the sun. He was taking one of his usual casual strolls, which were supposed to be peaceful, but he hadn`t exactly intended on tripping over the tree roots. In fact he didn`t wish to land in the thorn bush neext to it either, and he had come out looking like a porcupine. Even with the circumstances though he had to laugh at himself for being foolish enough not to lift his paws a bit higher. It had taken some time to remove all the thorns, but he was clean of them now.
That was like a warning though, or so he felt. Since then he had been more careful to keep an eye on things. It was like Starclan was making sure he was vigilant. If so, they didn`t need to repeat themselves. He thought about hunting, but with the plentiful prey he decided against it. Still something was odd, out of place in a way. He scented the air, and his fur bristled as he caught the faint rements of loners, or maybe rogues, either way he stalked forward and kept a watchful eye for attackers. How dare someone tresspass on his land! Darkstar felt his irritation mount and his ear flickered as it grew.
His attention was drawn when the whimpering tiny shreiks of a kitten fell on his ears. Determined to protect that kitten he raced out and noticed Sleetwhisper was already there by the kitten`s side. Immediatly he looked around and scented nearby for traces of the cats, but he found none for the moment, and bent down to inspect the kit. He sniffed her, and nuzzled his head to her making sure she was still moving and breathing, eventhough Sleetwhisper would take care of her, he falt compelled to check her out himself. He guessed it was a deeply woven fatherly instinct or something. He nodded to Sleetwhisper at the kits responses, and went to try and pick her up by the scruff the way a mother would. There was no way he was leaving her outside of the protection he was most deffinatly going to offer her in the camp. If any of the other warriors gave her a hard time, he would shake them up himself. To think this little kitten was making him act so strongly emotionally.

Sleetwhisper wasn't happy when he found out she had no name. What would he call her by? Kit? There was no way he'd call he that. Then he noticed something about the spot she had been sitting in. It was a rare sight in WindClan, this patch of growth. Most of the WindClan was covered in grass, and nothing but it. But this patch was of clovers. Was this a sign from StarClan or just a coincidence? Being a medicine cat, Sleetwhisper had learned to recognize the signs sent from StarClan, and clearly this was one of them. StarClan let me be right! he prayed. Do you think maybe your name is Clover? he asked. He turned to Darkstar, who was holding the kit by the scruff and flicked his tail towards the rare patch of clovers.

xx. the small calico's body was lifted by a large tom. her eyes flickered closed as she dangled by the scruff. her stomach heaved and when she felt she would be sick, nothing happened. with a faint cry, the kit mumbled to herself and winced. i don't know. maybe.
[/color] she answered softly. she quickly became confused as to why it seemed that the tom's opinion mattered. she understood the medicine cat was important, but she didn't have the slightest clue who this cat was. with a faint sigh, she let herself become limp, her limbs dangling above the ground and her small tail twitching. who are you?[/color] she looked up to the cat who was holding her the best i could.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Dark it may seem to some of you, but the Sun wil forever guide my paws.... Darkstar was relieved to hear the kit speak when he lifted her. She felt so vulnerable in his grasp. He would make those that left or stole this kit pay if he ever learned who it was. Flicking his ear he listened to Sleetwhisper as he described what seemed to be a sign from starclan. Clover... huh, I suppose it makes sense. He nodded to Sleetwhisper letting him know he thought so as well. Relieved that she could speak for the time being he placed her on the ground despite his instincts to protect her that screamed at him to keep her close. Afterall he couldn`t very well talk with his mouth full. He wondered how a mother could bare to lose such a fine kit.
Smiling at her he sunk down on all fours to her level, so he wouldn`t appear as big. Darkstar didn`t wish to scare her. He spoke calmly and with a gentle voice. " Hello little one, my name is Darkstar. I`m leader of Windclan, which is where you are right now." He smiled again, while trying to think of exactly how to continue here. Surely the kit would have to be taken back to the camp soon, and she would stay there. That is unless she belongs in another camp, if thats the case then things could get complicated.

Sleetwhisper sniffed Clover, she smelled of loner and only loner. No Clan scent clung to her, not even faintly. He padded over to Darkstar and whispered some words in his ear. "She smells only of loner, I think we should take care of her until she's old enough to make her own decisions, and then ask her if she wants to be a part of WindClan." he meowed, knowing Darkstar knew to agree or disagree with this. He quickly padded over to Clover. "Are you experiencing any pain right now, Clover? Do you need anything?" he asked. Being the medicine cat, he was the only one who should know what to do.

xx. the kit listened to their words quietly, understanding only slightly that Darkstar had more authority. With a small sigh, she nodded in answer to Sleetwhisper's question. my stomach hurts. i haven't seen my mother since the day of my birth. i haven't eatten except once maybe every weekd.
[/color] her stomach didn't look too bad for a kit who hadn't eatten anything in that long of a time, but in reality, it wasn't that she was fed. it was that she wasn't. when you haven't been fed, your stomach starts to bloat, causing you pain and sometimes death if the case is severe enough. i don't know where my brother and sister are either.[/color] a tear rolled down her face as the kit stared up at both the toms, her small green eyes wide.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Sleetwhisper remember the branch of juniper berries he had had when he spotted Clover. They were laying only a few tail-lengths away. The berries would cure the bellyache as long as Clover had something to eat. "We should take her back to camp, he meowed to Darkstar. "In the mean time, eat a few of these berries which will calm your bellyache, provided you have a little food." Sleetwhisper plucked two berries from the bushel and left them softly on the ground for the kit to eat. Then the medicine cat nosed them toward her. They would leave when Clover and Darkstar were ready.

xx. the smaller kit watched the white brute as he placed the berries in front of her. she nosed them before poking at them with her paw. what...are they?
[/color] she watched them for a few moments. i've seen these berries before, but the cats always said not to eat them.[/color] she watched them for a few moments, hesitating only slightly to eat, but her stomach screamed otherwise. with a painful growl coming from her stomach, the kit whimpered and laid back onto her stomach. it hurt.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Dark it may seem to some of you, but the Sun wil forever guide my paws....
Darkstar listened as she spoke of the deadly berries she had been warned about. He smiled again a little shocked that she knew even this young to avoid certain things. Standing up again and looking around, he wondered if her siblings were near. Scenting for them proved nothing, because he could miss them, and he didn`t wish to be respnsible for losing them if he could help it. "Eat them there fine, we mean you no harm, and you may not know it fully or understand it , but you can trust us. We`ll protect you." Quickly he licked up one of the smaller berries to show her that it wasn`t harmful. He wanted her to trust him. He didn`t want her to hate him, or be afraid of him when she grew older. Of course if he had to drag her back to the camp he would, and he would take the hate for saving her life, but so far it definatly didn`t seem like she was going to put up much of a fight.
His dark grey nose searched for the scents of other loners, and kits, but he couldn`t scent anything. " I think one of us should go and look around and make sure her siblings are not here. Since you must tend to her, I will go, but when you get back to the camp send out a search party to go looking with me." He waited to hear what he would say, but either way he was looking for those kits. If they were no where to be found then fine, but he had to attempt to look for them.

xx. her small paws kneeded at the ground as she stared down at her paws. with a small groan, she nibbled at the berry. she was hungry, and she couldn't put off eatting anymore. she ate it quietly, her green eyes blinking from the leader and back to the medicine cat. neither cat seemed like they would hurt her. after finishing her first berry, she felt rather contented, her belly not grumbling any longer. with a large yawn for a cat of her size, she closed her eyes, she listened for a few moments before she spoke. my siblings aren't here.

Sleetwhisper dipped his head. "Yes, Darkstar," he meowed, tasting the air for even a faint trace of Clover's siblings. Nothing. The only strange scent was the stale rogue scent he guessed was her mother. "No, I don't believe your siblings are or were here." He whispered the words into her ear, hoping she would understand. If she had been dropped off here alone, then her siblings were still out there. Since only she had been given to WindClan, he guessed that maybe the other clans got one of her siblings. "Come on. We have to go," he meowed gently. The sun was beginning to set, and he knew that the moor's predators might be out soon. He picked up Clover by the scruff and began to pad back to the camp.
