- - - - - - - Angling her head, a feline drunk in the faint rustle of leaves and the ebb and flow of the undulating water, whiskers twitching with appreciation as the mixture of the fresh forest scents behind her melded with the soothing scent of the rocks. It smelt so extrinsic yet so calming that the little cat wondered if just the aroma alone could be used as a healing herb for her Clan. But that was silly…how could she collect scents? The little cat, furred with gray and a silvery white, she looked entranced, padded out from the safe canopy of the trees and took a tentative paw step, sinking her tiny paw into the soft, pristine ground. She purred softly, throat hurting just to do so, and took another step. As she treaded into the sunlight, her coat became more distinct—striped with soft gentle gray bands that interfered with her mostly white body to the end of her slowly waving tail. Raising her head, she squinted at the sun, narrowing her crystal blue eyes and shading the warm greens, yellows, scarlets and golds of her mottled gaze. As Tealpaw lowered her eyes, her rounded blue eyes—ones that gave her, her name—darted around the rocks, amazed by the vast stretch of sparkling colors that intoxicated her a bit. Hm? Tealpaw blinked. Another cat? Nose quivering, the she-cat slunk forward, trying to catch a whiff of the other cat, then realizing it was Palepaw. She exhaled in relief and trotted towards her friend with a grin. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

PALEPAW ! the dark amber occuli of the orange-masked white tom flicked towards the moving shadows across from him. for a moment, he had no idea who exactly would rush forward and greet him so eagerly. he hadn't spoken to many, save a few apprentices that he went out training with every day - and even they were usually only there for training purposes, nothing more. with a little shuffle of his pure nadir, he observed the approaching she-cat, his maw opening to receive the scent that wafted towards him. immediately, he identified the scent as that of tealpaw - a friend of his, around the same age and skill level as him (even though almost everyone in this small clan could beat palepaw, because of his windclan-like build). with a twitch of his tail and a big grin on his face, he wandered in the same direction to greet her.
with a few shuffles forward, he lifted his tail in greeting. "hey, tealpaw! what's up?" he tilted his head to the side, ignoring the crunching of twigs beneath his paws as he wandered about the hollowed tree and walking up to the younger she-cat, giving her a respectful nod and a flick of the tail to the shoulder.

- - - - - - - Huh. She pondered, wondering why Palepaw wasn't acting the way her friends had said he would. Apparently he was in love with her. He apparently thought she was the prettiest apprentice in Thunderclan. But hell, what can she honestly trust? The small femme trotted the rest of the way. Um. Hi. Tealpaw blushed. Nothing much, just talking to you. She tumbled a little bit, finally meeting him at the base of the hill. She felt that she wanted to be closer. Closer to him. The two were all alone. No supervision. A rush of happiness flowed through her. Suddenly her ears perked back, she heard a small rodent to the left side. Tealpaw cocked her head, listening to it scurry along the forest undergrowth. Of course. Tealpaw became a bit worried. If I don't go for it, I'll look like a chicken. But if I do, everyone knows I'm not really an amazing hunter. I might make myself look mousebrained..[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

palepaw noticed the little she-cat take a pondering pose, and he wondered what she was thinking about. not that the young boy would question - no, no. it wasn't his place to ask for what wasn't his in the first place, so he wouldn't ask. simple enough, wasn't it? then why did he get that strange urge to run up and greet her, to simply ask her what was on her mind? he knew that he could be trusted, but certainly stating this would make him sound like a conceited liar of a cat, and that was the last thing palepaw wanted. so instead of speaking his mind, he shut his maw and simply pondered as she trotted towards him.
the little apprentice seemed a bit shy, and he could scent nervousness on her. she was nervous. was he nervous? millions of questions and only a few answers, answers provoking only more questions. it was an endless cycle, a paradox of the mind. questions cycled into more questions, and he finally gave up trying to reason himself out of his thoughts. "ah, well." he fumbled for the right words, and once he let them go, it was like the river breaking free of a dam. "same here, i guess. earlier i was going to go training, but my mentor sort of canceled. probably something more important than training me, hm?"
some sort of longing made him want to edge closer to the little apprentice, but he would remain his distance unless permitted otherwise. his father had always taught him to be well mannered and a white knight - those who couldn't see past his sacrificing exterior weren't meant to see the fuzzy interior. perhaps that's why palepaw had received such an awful mother in the first place - because his father only took the ones that would swim to him. such a practice, to palepaw, was disgusting, but palepaw respected it nonetheless. it was tradition, and tradition was something he revered about as much as the warrior code.
hearing a scuffling noise, he perked his white ears and tilted his head to the side. he twitched his whiskers and twitched his tailtip, a signal to the she-cat that she could reach for the mouse, if she so wished. ladies first. always.

Her silvery sheen seeped through her white and silver tabby coat as she basked in the sun. Tealpaw followed Palepaw's gaze, a bit alarmed that he had made such a gesture. Oh. no, no, no. You should get it. She smiled up at him, rounded blue eyes sparkling. She tried to hide her sudden scaredness. Oh god. I'm a total wimp. I know I should've went for it.. I suck at hunting though.
Still, she couldn't hide her disappointment. All nervousness had flushed away. He didn't even seem to care about her let alone like her. Instead, she sighed. Well, maybe he was assigned to do something. Don't get too worked up. Tealpaw replied, suddenly grinning like a idiot.
Angling her body into a stretch, a breeze flew across her pelt ruffling it a bit. The canopy of heavy shades of greens mimicked the entire forest, but instead the sun shone through a tad bit; radiating the clearing she and him were in.
Her head turned, and her ears twitched. For some reason, she was attracted to him; he intoxicated her emotions. Her tail flicked through the air, slicing it every time. Abruptly, she felt nervous all over again, numbing her other senses. I must look really mousebrained. The small femme thought, hoping that he couldn't see her awkwardness.
Then an inference was made. She lowered her head. Hey erm. Palepaw? Tealpaw brought herself to ask. This might end well, or horrible. Pick one Starclan.
