the feminine body of the white she-cat weaved though the light forest, the shimmering rays of the just-risen moon beaming down on her delicate fur - sharpening every pawstep, every whisker twitch, every single movement she subconsciously made. the crunching of twigs beneath her paws made hunting seem impossible; perhaps hunting wasn't what she was trying to accomplish, wandering through the forest. on second glance, her eyes had a sharp gleam in them, and behind them a hint of exhaustion. iceheart knew that the light of dawn would be approaching on fast wing in a number of hours - so why didn't she go back to her warm den and curl up in rest? to put it simply, iceheart screamed to herself that she wasn't tired, and if she was, she would just have to get over it.

this strange tradition of awareness had been happening for days, weeks - only a hour of sleep or less in the mornings, as a norm - and every time she got sleep, it would be restless and tireless. haunting dreams left their pawprint on her, but she had that perfectionist streak in her. she wouldn't allow herself to mess up her duties - after all, if it wasn't for her rabid belief that she was meant to work her paws off for the clan, who would take her place?

blindly, the she-cat stumbled through the forest - crunch, crunch, crunch.

There was an excuse for Skypaw to wander around blindly - she was blind. Her milky blue eyes portrayed that easily, as she felt carefully through the forest. She bumped into Iceheart, then shouldered past her, as if she wasn't blind at all. Sometimes she had made sudden movements like that, it wasn't all that new to her. She let out a quiet sorry, and continued on like nothing happened. The light was ugly. The clouds laid low on the horizon. Good thing Skypaw didn't see it. She'd be annoyed, and she'd wish she was dead.
