Here I'm writing a brief history of Warrior Cats, or Fluttered Minds as you know it these days. First it started with Warrior Cats Conforums and its various owners, then it went to Warrior Cats Version Two, and then two remakes, and now we're here. So here's the story.
The dawn of this site started years ago, when Anna created warriorcats.conforums.com. That was the first version of Warrior Cats. She was owner for a year or so. Then her ownership on Warrior Cats Conforums came to and end the same way most of the ownerships came to an end: the site was deleted and someone else claimed it. It was deleted for whatever reason. I always assumed there was an underaged member and Dave, the creator of Conforums just like someone is the creator of ProBoards, deleted it. Of course, it could be that someone hacked it which seems more likely. Back on Conforums, we had a lot of hacks.
Then there was Hollyclaw's short rule as the owner of Warrior Cats Conforums. I hadn't joined Warrior Cats yet, but I've done my research. Hollyclaw was a very inactive owner, and the site only managed to stay alive because of the URL and the fact they had three or four active staff members. Again, like every other Warrior Cats Conforums site, it was deleted. Hollyclaw later joined a few of the versions of the site apparently to see how it was doing. He was never active as I remember it.
Next the staff of the current site, Survivor Cats Reformation, claimed the site. Once again, we were on Warrior Cats Conforums and I still hadn't joined. As always, there were hacks and somewhere along the way there was a split. That's right, Survivor Cats Reformation was formed because there were fight on Warrior Cats Conforums. One side kept Conforums, the other went and created a new site. But Survivor Cats Reformation plays a very small role in this story, because there is much more of it to tell. During the rule of Survivor Cats Reformation, the site was deleted again. Sometime around the time I'm talking about, the site split. There were so many members it hardly hurt the site.
As usual, someone claimed the site. This time it was Silversun, who I'm sure many of you remember. I ended up being one of her admins. I joined during her rule, and I learned that I had joined only days after the previous site was deleted and remade. Silversun's rule was the longest of all the Warrior Cats Conforums ownerships. The staff was Silversun, Spark, who is actually a member here, Sandy, and Cheetah. Spark became the co-owner at one point, and she was a the right choice. She could code and knew where to find good skins. The site, as usual, was hacked often, and it so happened that during one of the hacks I was a moderator at the time. After the site was actually, I rebuilt it almost completely by myself, not to brag or anything. For that, I was rewards with a promotion. Now I was an admin. Now, during this next part I ask that you not say anything mean at all to Spark, because she's the reason you're all here having fun roleplaying with us. If you want to say anything to her, let it be a a kind 'thank you'.
Spark had disappeared for a while. It had probably been about a week before the site was deleted. It was around four in the morning eastern time, I was online, when the site was deleted. Apparently Spark had reported an underaged member to get the site, but I don't blame her. Silversun was so inactive, and Spark was usually so active, she should have been the main owner in the first place. But the site was deleted, anyway. Only moments later was a nice site made, but Dave still had to 'freeze' the board, so to speak. Once the site was deleted, people could remake it freely, only to have it remade again. When Dave finally 'froze' it, it was Jade who had it.
Now, once again, I ask that you not hate on anyone because everything that happened here led up to Fluttered Minds. Jade gave the owner account to Spark and they shared it for a little while until Jade quit. Me having completely lost my staff position, I was extremely mad at Spark. After the site was deleted, we all moved to Warrior Cats Version Two. There some of us plotted against her, but our efforts failed miserably. We were at peace with Spark and her version of Warrior Cats, but not content with Warrior Cats Version Two. This was mostly because we wanted the URL back. Silversun was owner on Warrior Cats Version Two. It was a site she had previously made when we attempted to move to ProBoards only to not move.
In the end, it was an underaged staff member who caused the site to be deleted for the final time. I won't say her name, because this is something only a few of us know. Just me, Spark, Silversun, and Mysteryfaith as far as I know. Mysteryfaith was one of my fellow staff members at Warrior Cats Version Two. After that, we continued to roleplay at Warrior Cats Version Two, still unhappy with our URL, which had changed from warriorcats.conforums.com to warriorcatsv02.proboards.com. It only took about a year for the site to die.
The site was plagued with fights from the time we moved there. It was killed not only because of fights, but because of inactivity. As staff, me and the other admins tried to get everyone active, but when people won't post they won't post. So everyone didn't post, and as the steady flow of time kept going on, people got bored of the site or got tired of the fighting and left. When people fight, or when there's very little roleplay on a site, people will leave and no one will join. So over time the site will die. That's just what Warrior Cats Version Two did. It died.
After it died, I disappeared for at least two months. I returned for a couple days on one of the remakes. It was made by Mysteryfaith and had only about fifteen active members. There wasn't too much posting so I found myself in the same position many guests on Warrior Cats Version Two were in: the members fought, though not as much as on Warrior Cats Version Two, and there was little posting. I joined but I couldn't stay active, mostly because not many others were active. Then I disappeared for about two months again. During that time span the first remake of the Warrior Cats Version Two died, and a second one was born.
This one lasted an even shorter time than the first. When I came back it was already half-dead. Sky had remade the site this time. There were only about five active members at the time. I assume there had been more when it was remade, only to have it die. It's dead now. It died only about three months ago. I went on Survivor Cats Reformation and joined. That was where I met up with Danni again, we were what you might call 'old friends' at the time. She wanted to redo Warrior Cats Version Two on that same site, but Silversun had tried to redo it herself and I was no longer staff. It had clearly never taken off for the second time.
So then she gave me the link to this site, the one we're on right now, and we created it. I'm going to give her credit for all of this, she made a lot of the boards although I added some codes to what she already had. From what I remember, this was one of her old sites. She had already made a skin and a few boards. She had also coded it a bit, but I added codes such as a live preview and category splitter where they were needed. Since the site has been redone, the codes I added are gone. But anyway, thank Danni for the site if you want to thank anyone. The original staff was Me, Danni, Russet, Mist, Night, and Sand. Sand wasn't active, so she was demoted for the more active, more experienced Ivy you know today.
At some point after that I was demoted, but I'm not going to get into that because now I'm very anti-fight. Now we're in the present, with Danni, Ivy, Shallow, Windy, Mist, and Lithe as staff. The site is going very well, except there are a few problems. People aren't posting, which is one of the reasons Warrior Cats Version Two died. Also, there are fights. I witnessed a fight today, and when I was staff I banned a few people for fighting. I'm writing all of this for your advice.
It's only because of all the fighting and the lack of posts that Warrior Cats Version Two died. I'm not saying that Fluttered Minds is dying, but every site has to die sometime. To keep this site running as long as possible, my suggestion to you is so refrain from fighting and to post. If we do that, this site should live only for many years. If you post, then people will roleplay here for a very long time, and when you're gone there will be new roleplayers to take your place. Just post and don't fight, and this site can live for who knows how long. Maybe forever?
The story of Warrior Cats has been told in its full extent. If I have any facts wrong, please PM me and tell me how I can correct this error. Thank for reading,
Your friend,
Berry
