its not about the money we make.
its about the passions that we ache for.
what makes your heart beat faster.

black paws tore feverishly at the ground around the tree, uprooting earth with each swift flick of her paw. under the shade of the towering hollow tree, she wasn't finding much shelter from the heat, or any other obstacle she encountered in her life. the branches forked and spiked high above her head, and below roots took to the ground. it cast shade down over her, creating shadows and darkness to conceal her dark pelt from attracting the light of the greenleaf day. her tiny paws worked quickly in anger and the young digger let out an exasperated sigh as she realized all she wasn't moving much of the soft, cold ground at all with paws as tiny as hers. boredly, she ran a claw along one of the tree's roots, wondering at the roots that spread underneath her, like the tree had veins too, veins that brought it blood and life. she dug her claws in. nothing happened. the tree was strong, not weak. and it was big, not small. it had stood her many, many moons. she had barely lived for six.
the young she cat rolled onto her back restlessly and studied the tree's canopy. she closed her eyes but opened them again, the energy inside her was too much, and yet she had nothing to do. the sounds of the birds chirping made her want to run. the sound of the river nearby made her want to leap across it. the sounds of the trees whispering secrets made her want to climb to the skies. she laid there for a moment more, wishing she had a mentor. then she could be learning fighting skills and exploring the territory and hunting. the fresh apprentice had no clue about thunderclan yet, seeing as she had no mentor. she wanted to learn and grow and help her clan so badly! she felt like ants were crawling in her pelt. she was tiny, and weak looking, but surely she could learn something useful if she had the chance to learn!
