xx. theres a feeling that ive never felt before. the midnight sky had was illuminated by the flickering flames around her. she had awoken to the smell of smoke near camp and raced away to check it out. it had been storming violently all night; and this was what she had waited for. to see the flames lick down the sides of a tree between the riverclan and shadowclan boarder. she hadn't left the comfort of her den to save riverclan; or even shadowclan for that matter. she was simply here to watch the beautiful fire have it's way with the tree.
xx. maybe it's love. with an explosion of color; the forest lit alive; a few trees going at a time. it was stopped by the river and marsh land from spreading much farther; but that had been when the tree collapsed. flutterstar had leaped to her paws and out of the way; watching as the tree came crashing down where she had once been sitting and the flames slowly died at the marsh land. she snickered and flung mud at it that had clung to her paws. the oak clearing was nearly overcome with the ugly looking mud; but she was okay with that.
xx. the world was dark and gray. but for once; the flames didn't amuse her or arouse excitement in her. instead; her thoughts were clouded with her favorite face in the clan. she let her defenses fall and her single emerald twinkled as she raised her face to the stars; watching them as though they were him. with a sigh and a small shiver; she rose to her paws and shook away ashes that had gathered on her pelt. she slowly kicked mud at the tree to make sure the flames had no chance of starting themselves again so the clan would be safe for the night to sleep and to relax. most cats would have thought she was mad for running to a flaming tree simply to watch the flames; but she had done it anyway; and for once; she was glad she had.
xx. but now i see the color the old world has to share she sunk to her haunches and watched the sun's quiet rising as the leaves in the clearing began to rustle and make a hissing sound. she hadn't noticed it until a few moments ago that her pelt was soaked and cold. she winced as she slowly lifted a paw and licked at it. she had yet to speak to patchfur about her paws; and she knew she couldn't put it off much longer; as the infected one was beginning to swell and make walking nearly impossible... maybe that would be added to her list of things to do. with a shrug; she rose to her paws; whiskers twitching and made her way toward camp slowly. she stopped finally; her paw giving her too much pain to want to continue walking. so instead she laid down and continued her peaceful thinking.
